Connected Retail ERP and Inventory Management in Muscat

Muscat is Oman's largest market, and many store groups grew from a single branch in Ruwi or Muttrah into a network across the governorates. Stock usually moves from a warehouse in the Rusayl Industrial Estate to branches in Qurum, Al Khuwair and Ghala, then further out to Seeb, Barka and Nizwa. Each hop needs a clear record. Symake sends transfers with a dispatch note, tracks stock in transit, and asks the receiving branch to confirm what arrived before stock counts as available. Consultants fly in to Muscat for workshops and go-live, and support afterwards is remote.

Inventory tools for Muscat store networks

Built for groups moving stock between governorates

Every transfer recorded from dispatch to receipt

When a Muscat warehouse sends stock to Nizwa, the goods spend hours on the road. In many systems they simply leave one location and appear in another, with no record of what was lost on the way. Symake keeps them in transit until the branch confirms receipt. Shortages are raised straight away, and the driver, vehicle and dispatch time are all on the record.

  • Dispatch notes printed with barcodes
  • Transit stock reported on its own line
  • Shortages raised at the receiving branch
  • Driver and vehicle stored on each transfer

Stock control for retailers in Muscat

Since April 2021, Muscat stores have added 5% VAT to taxable sales, with the Oman Tax Authority in charge. E-invoicing will follow through Fawtara. A phase 1 pilot is planned from August 2026 for about 100 of the largest taxpayers, with phase 2 planned for early 2027 and phase 3 for mid to late 2027. These dates are not final. Symake keeps supplier invoices, goods receipts and transfers linked, so input VAT, stock value and e-invoice records all come from the same data when your phase applies.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a warehouse in Rusayl serve branches in Nizwa and Seeb?

Yes. Each branch has its own reorder points. The replenishment run proposes transfers from the Rusayl warehouse, and the dispatch notes can be grouped by route for each delivery trip.

Do you send consultants to Muscat?

Yes. Our consultants travel from Bengaluru to Muscat for the setup workshops, staff sessions and each go-live. Symake has no office in Oman, so ongoing support is remote, during hours that overlap the Omani working day.

How does the system handle Fawtara?

Fawtara phases are still planned, with a pilot from August 2026 for about 100 of the largest taxpayers. Symake keeps your invoice data structured, so it is ready to connect once your phase and the final rules are confirmed.

What happens if a branch receives less than was sent?

The branch records what actually arrived. The difference stays in transit and is flagged for review, so the warehouse and the driver can explain it before anything is written off.

Can we run several companies in one system?

Yes. Family groups often hold branches in separate companies. Each keeps its own books and stock, and owners see combined reports across all of them in one place.

Can stock be valued in more than one currency?

Stock is valued in Omani rials for local reporting. If you buy from abroad, purchases can be in the supplier's currency, and exchange differences post to the accounts automatically.

How do we start with one Muscat branch and add more later?

We usually pilot with one or two branches. Once the process works, more branches join in waves. Adding a branch later is a matter of setting it up and counting its opening stock.

Which payment methods are matched to branch takings?

Card, Apple Pay and OmanNet payments are matched to each branch's sales, so finance can reconcile daily takings against the stock that left the shelves.
