Port-side Retail ERP and Inventory Management in Jeddah

Jeddah is where a lot of Saudi stock first lands. Goods cleared at Jeddah Islamic Port often go to a warehouse, then to stores on Tahlia Street, in Al Hamra or in Al Rawdah, and on to branches in Makkah and Taif. Each step adds cost and a chance to lose track. Symake records the shipment once, spreads duty and clearing charges across the items, and carries that cost into every transfer, so a branch in Taif sees the same unit cost as the main warehouse. Family-run groups get a clear answer to a simple question. What did this item really cost, and where is it now?

Know what each imported item really cost

Many Jeddah groups price items from the supplier invoice alone, then wonder why margins look thin at year end. Duty, port charges and transport to the warehouse all add up. Symake collects those charges against the shipment and spreads them over the items in it. The result flows into stock valuation and into the margin reports your family partners or board review each month.

  • Charges captured against each shipment
  • Unit cost updated when charges arrive late
  • Margin reports based on landed cost
  • Stock valuation matched to the ledger

Stock control for retailers in Jeddah

Saudi VAT of 15% applies to goods sold from your Jeddah stores, and ZATCA sets the e-invoicing rules. Symake keeps input VAT on supplier invoices separate from item cost, so landed cost is not inflated. On the sales side, FATOORA phase 2 needs invoices in UBL XML with a QR code and a cryptographic stamp. B2B invoices are cleared in real time, and simplified invoices from your stores are reported within 24 hours. Wave 25 applies to businesses with VAT-subject revenue above SAR 187,500 in any year between 2022 and 2025, and its deadline is 1 February 2027.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can landed cost include charges that arrive after the goods?

Yes. Late charges, such as a port invoice that arrives two weeks later, can be added to the shipment. The system updates the unit cost of items still in stock and posts the difference correctly for items already sold.

We supply branches in Makkah from a Jeddah warehouse. Is that supported?

Yes. The Jeddah warehouse and each Makkah branch are separate locations. Transfers carry cost with them, and the receiving branch confirms quantities. Training for Makkah staff is held in Jeddah or online.

Is Symake a Jeddah company?

No. Symake is headquartered in Mahadevapura, Bengaluru, India, and has delivered 200+ projects. It has no office in Jeddah. Consultants fly in for workshops, training and go-live, and support is provided remotely.

Can we buy in US dollars and sell in riyals?

Yes. Purchase orders and supplier invoices can be in any currency. Stock is valued in SAR using the exchange rate you set, and gains or losses on payment are posted to the accounts.

How are expiry dates handled when goods move between branches?

The lot and expiry date travel with the stock. When a branch receives a transfer, it sees exactly which lots arrived, and its own expiry warnings include them from that moment.

Does the system work with our existing barcode scanners?

Most standard USB and Bluetooth scanners work, as do Android handhelds with built-in scanners. We check your current devices during discovery before suggesting any new hardware.

How does Symake help Jeddah groups meet the 1 February 2027 deadline?

Invoices are produced in the phase 2 format with QR code and stamp, and receipts from stores are reported as simplified invoices. We review your wave status during discovery and plan go-live with that date in mind.

Can partners see stock across more than one company?

Yes. Multi-company setup lets each company keep its own books and stock, while partners see a combined view of stock value and slow movers across the whole group.
