Selecting Production Management Software for Manufacturers in Dubai

Dubai manufacturers often split work across sites: a main plant in Dubai Industrial City, an assembly unit in Dubai Investments Park and a bonded warehouse in Jebel Ali Free Zone for export orders. Each site may keep its own spreadsheet, so nobody sees the full material picture. Symake brings demand from dealers, distributors and export buyers into one master schedule and runs material planning across every site at once. Transfers between sites are planned like purchases, with their own lead times. Because the plan knows what is free, sales can confirm a ship date from the screen rather than waiting for a call back from the plant.

Nine planning tools for multi-site Dubai producers

Each one answers a question planners ask before they commit

Demand inputs

Demand inputs

Dealer orders, export orders and a rolling forecast feed the plan together, each tagged so you know where every requirement came from.

Site-level netting

Site-level netting

Stock is netted per warehouse, so a shortage in Jebel Ali is not hidden by a surplus sitting in Al Quoz.

Available to promise

Available to promise

Sales sees how many units are free to promise by week, after existing orders are covered, before quoting a buyer.

Rough-cut capacity

Rough-cut capacity

Check whether next quarter's schedule fits your key work centres before detailed planning starts.

Buyer worklist

Buyer worklist

Suggested purchases are grouped by supplier and need-by date, with lead times and minimum order quantities applied.

Outside processing

Outside processing

Operations done by a partner workshop are planned as subcontract orders, with components issued to them and tracked until return.

Export lots

Export lots

Finished lots shipped through Jebel Ali keep links to their raw material lots, which helps when an overseas buyer asks for records.

Re-plan on change

Re-plan on change

When a dealer moves a date or a supplier is late, the plan recalculates and shows only the orders affected.

Planning KPIs

Planning KPIs

Track schedule adherence, late purchase lines and capacity use on a dashboard the operations head reviews weekly.

Answering the dealer's question: when can you ship?

In Dubai, dealers and export buyers often place orders at short notice and expect an answer the same day. Symake checks the requested quantity against finished stock, work already scheduled, free hours on the bottleneck work centre and material arriving on open purchase orders. The result is a date your plant can meet, shown to sales before they reply, and reserved once the order is confirmed.

  • Same-day answers on dealer enquiries
  • Bottleneck work centre checked first
  • Incoming purchase orders counted as supply
  • Date reserved the moment the order is confirmed

A weekly planning cycle for Dubai sites

What planners do from Monday review to Friday release

Collect demand

New dealer and export orders are pulled in along with the latest forecast for each product family.

Review schedule

The planner adjusts the master schedule, keeping the nearest weeks frozen to protect the floor.

Run planning

Material and capacity planning run across all Dubai sites, listing shortages and overloads.

Fix exceptions

Planners move orders, split batches or approve overtime where a work centre is over its hours.

Approve buys

Buyers confirm the suggested purchase and subcontract orders and send them to suppliers.

Release work

Work orders with confirmed material go to the plants for the coming week, in priority order.

Production planning for Dubai plants

Dubai's free zones and mainland areas share the UAE tax rules. VAT at 5% applies to most supplies, and corporate tax at 9% applies to taxable profits, so stock values coming out of the plan affect the accounts. From 1 January 2027, businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more must issue e-invoices through an accredited service provider, and others follow on 1 July 2027. Symake records VAT on each purchase and sale, keeps free-zone and mainland entities as separate companies, and prepares invoice data for your provider. ICV certification is also worth planning for if you supply large buyers.

Free-zone and mainland entities run as separate companies
VAT at 5% captured on every purchase and invoice
E-invoicing data passed to an accredited provider
Stock valuation aligned with 9% corporate tax books

Bring a week of real dealer orders and see the plan, shortages and ship dates the system would produce.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can we plan several Dubai sites in one system?

Yes. Each site in Dubai Industrial City, Dubai Investments Park or Jebel Ali Free Zone gets its own warehouses and work centres. Material planning runs across all of them and suggests transfers before it suggests new purchases.

How does the plan treat a JAFZA company and a mainland company?

They are set up as separate companies with their own accounts and VAT settings. Inter-company sales between them are planned and invoiced like any other order, so each entity's books stay clean.

What does available to promise mean for our sales team?

It is the quantity still free after current orders are covered. Sales sees it per product and per week, so a reply to a dealer is based on real supply rather than a guess.

Do your consultants come to Dubai?

Yes, for the planning workshop, training and go-live. Symake has no office in the UAE, so other work is done remotely from Bengaluru, during hours that overlap the Dubai working week.

Can the system suggest when to buy as well as what to buy?

Yes. Each suggestion carries an order-by date worked out from the need date minus the supplier lead time. Buyers see late suggestions first so the urgent lines are not missed.

How do minimum order quantities and pack sizes affect suggestions?

They are kept per supplier and item. The plan rounds each suggestion up to the minimum and to the pack size, and carries any extra quantity forward as stock for later needs.

Will the system replace our planning spreadsheets completely?

That is the aim. During rollout, planners usually keep the old sheet for a short parallel run. Once the system's shortages match what the team expects, the spreadsheets are retired.

Is e-invoicing in Dubai handled inside the same system?

Invoices are raised in Symake with VAT and the data an accredited service provider needs, then sent through that provider. Go-live is 1 January 2027 for revenue of AED 50 million or more and 1 July 2027 for others.
