Why groups pick Manufacturing ERP Software in Oman

Oman's manufacturers are spread across the country. Madayn runs industrial estates in Rusayl, Sohar, Raysut, Nizwa and Sur, and free zones at Sohar, Salalah and Duqm add further options. A group with a head office in Muscat and plants in two or three of these places often finds each site keeping its own figures. Symake's ERP puts every plant, warehouse and company on the same records, so the group can compare cost and output between sites and move stock where it is needed. Consultants fly in for workshops at the main sites, and the project is built and supported from Bengaluru.

One system for an Oman manufacturing group

Plants, free zone entities and head office reporting together

Site structure

Site structure

Model each plant, warehouse and legal entity, from a Rusayl factory to a Duqm free zone company, in one setup.

Shared masters

Shared masters

Items, suppliers and BOMs are defined once and used at every site, so codes and costs mean the same everywhere.

Inter-site transfers

Inter-site transfers

Move material or finished goods between plants with in-transit stock tracked until the receiving site confirms.

Central buying

Central buying

A group buyer can combine needs from several plants into one order and split the deliveries by site.

Production per site

Production per site

Each plant has its own work centres, routings and work orders, with output reported to the group daily.

Cost comparison

Cost comparison

Compare the cost of the same product made at different plants, and see whether material or labour explains the gap.

Group accounts

Group accounts

Each company keeps its own ledger and VAT position, and the group sees consolidated results and cash.

Approval limits

Approval limits

Spending limits are set by site and role, so plant managers approve locally and larger items go to head office.

Fawtara readiness

Fawtara readiness

Invoices are held as structured data for every company, ready to connect when Fawtara reaches your phase.

Compare your plants on the same numbers

When two Omani plants make the same product, owners want to know why one costs more. With every site on Symake's ERP, material use, labour hours, scrap and overhead are recorded the same way. A cost comparison report shows the gap line by line. The group can then decide where to make each product, where to hold stock and which plant needs help, based on records rather than opinions.

  • Same costing rules at every plant
  • Scrap and yield compared by site
  • Stock levels visible across governorates
  • Group view with each company separate

Rolling out across Omani governorates

A pilot plant first, then the remaining sites in waves

Group design

Consultants meet the group in Muscat to agree shared codes, costing rules and the company structure.

Pilot site

One plant, often in Rusayl or Sohar, goes live first so the design is proven on real work.

Lessons applied

Changes found at the pilot are built into the setup before any other site is configured.

Further sites

Plants in Raysut, Nizwa, Sur or Duqm are added one at a time, with training at each.

Group close

The first combined month-end is closed with finance to check transfers and consolidated results.

Remote support

The Bengaluru team supports every site remotely during the Omani working week.

Built for manufacturers in Oman

Across Oman, VAT is charged at 5% and has been since April 2021, with the Oman Tax Authority as administrator. Fawtara, the national e-invoicing programme, is being phased in: a phase 1 pilot was planned from August 2026 for around 100 of the largest taxpayers, and phases 2 and 3 are indicated for early 2027 and mid to late 2027. Because those dates are not final, Symake plans each company's connection when its phase is confirmed. Groups with plants on Madayn estates and companies in the Sohar, Salalah or Duqm free zones keep separate tax settings for each entity.

How to choose an ERP for a multi-site Omani group

Ask each vendor to show the same product made at two plants, a transfer between them and a consolidated report, all in one demo. Then ask how they will roll out across governorates. Symake answers both with a pilot-first plan built on your own sites.

✓ Pilot plant before group rollout
✓ Shared codes across every site
✓ Inter-site transfers in the demo
✓ Training at each plant in turn
✓ Support for every governorate
✓ More than 200 projects delivered

Frequently Asked Questions

Can one ERP cover plants in Rusayl, Sohar and Raysut?

Yes. Each plant has its own warehouses, work centres and work orders, while items, suppliers and costing rules are shared. Head office sees every site together.

How do you roll out across several governorates?

We start with one pilot plant, apply what we learn, then add the remaining sites one at a time. Consultants fly in for training at each site as it goes live.

Can a Duqm free zone company sit in the same system?

Yes. It is set up as its own company with its own ledger and tax settings, and it can trade with other group companies through inter-company transactions.

How will the system connect to Fawtara?

Invoices are stored as structured data for every company. When a company's Fawtara phase is confirmed, Symake configures and tests the connection before that start date.

Can we buy centrally for all Omani plants?

Yes. A group buyer can combine requirements from several sites into one purchase order and split deliveries so each plant receives its own share.

How are costs compared between two plants?

Both plants record material, labour, scrap and overhead the same way. A comparison report shows where the cost of the same product differs and why.

Who supports sites outside Muscat?

All sites are supported remotely by the team in Bengaluru during hours that overlap the Omani working week. Location does not change the level of support.

Can our Omani staff be trained in Arabic?

Every course and support call is in English. Many groups train a key user at each site, who then helps colleagues with questions day to day.
