Why import-heavy firms need Manufacturing ERP Software in Jeddah

Jeddah has always traded by sea, and many local producers still buy most of their inputs from abroad, clear them at Jeddah Islamic Port and truck them to plants in the First, Second or Third Industrial City. When freight and customs charges sit in a separate file, product cost is a guess. Symake's ERP attaches every landed cost to the receipt it belongs to, so the price of a finished item reflects what the material really cost. The same record then feeds work orders, dispatch and the ledger. Consultants come to Jeddah for the design and go-live phases, and the rest of the project is run from Bengaluru.

Import costs that land on the right product

Imported material is often the largest cost line for a Jeddah plant, yet it is the one most often estimated. In Symake's ERP the buyer records the shipment, finance enters the clearing and freight bills as they arrive, and the system spreads them over the received lots. Work orders draw those lots, so the finished item carries the true input cost. Price lists for dealers can then be reviewed against real margins.

  • Foreign currency orders and supplier bills
  • Port charges split by value, weight or units
  • Lot costs flow into each work order
  • Margin reports by product and dealer

Built for manufacturers in Jeddah

Every sale a Jeddah manufacturer makes carries 15% VAT, and ZATCA's FATOORA rules decide how each invoice is formed and sent. Firms in wave 25, those with VAT-subject revenue above SAR 187,500 in any year between 2022 and 2025, have until 1 February 2027 to integrate with phase 2. That means XML invoices in UBL format, a cryptographic stamp, a QR code, clearance of business invoices before they reach the buyer and reporting of simplified invoices inside 24 hours. Import VAT paid at the port is recorded against the shipment so it can be reclaimed in the right period.

Questions to ask before picking a Jeddah ERP

Ask any vendor to receive one real import shipment in the demo, spread its charges and show the result in a finished product cost. If that takes a spreadsheet on the side, the system will not fit a port-dependent plant. Symake runs this test with your own documents.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the ERP follow a container from Jeddah Islamic Port to our plant?

Yes. Each shipment is linked to its purchase orders and tracked until the goods are received at the plant warehouse. Clearing and freight bills are attached to the same shipment for costing.

Our plant is in the Third Industrial City. Will consultants come there?

Yes. Consultants travel from Bengaluru for discovery, training and go-live, and they can work at your plant in any of Jeddah's industrial cities. Between visits the work continues remotely.

How are customs duty and freight split across items?

Finance chooses the rule for each type of charge: by value, by weight or by quantity. The system applies it to every received line, and the adjusted cost carries into stock and work orders.

We make to order for project buyers. Does that fit?

Yes. A confirmed order can create its own work order with any special BOM changes. Planners see the promised dispatch date, and the job cost can be compared with the quoted price.

Can we send one step of production to an outside workshop?

Yes. Subcontracting tracks the material you send out, the service charge and the processed goods that come back, so stock and cost stay correct.

Our family owns several companies. Can they share one system?

Yes. Each company keeps its own ledger and VAT number. Owners can see a combined view across companies while managers see only their own entity.

How is import VAT handled in the accounts?

Import VAT paid at clearance is booked against the shipment and the period it belongs to, so your accountant can claim it in the correct VAT return.

Can dealers in Rabigh and Taif be put on credit limits?

Yes. Each dealer has a credit limit and payment terms. When a dealer is over the limit or overdue, new dispatches can be blocked until a manager releases them.
