FMCG ERP, Billing, Inventory and Distribution in UAE by emirate

UAE distributors rarely stop at one emirate. A typical setup might hold stock in Jebel Ali or Dubai Investments Park, run a second depot in Mussafah for Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, and serve Sharjah, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah from SAIF Zone or Hamriyah. Each depot needs its own stock and invoice series, but the company files one VAT return and will meet one e-invoicing deadline. SalesMake joins these up. Invoices from every depot carry VAT at 5% and post to a single ledger, credit limits follow the outlet across emirates, and head office sees stock by expiry date for the whole country on one screen.

Emirate depots

Set up depots in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah or Ras Al Khaimah, each with its own stock and invoice series.

One VAT return

One VAT return

VAT at 5% from every depot's invoices and credit notes is totalled for a single company return.

E-invoice ready

E-invoice ready

Invoices are stored as structured data and can pass to your accredited service provider from 2027.

Cross-emirate moves

Cross-emirate moves

Transfers between emirate depots are tracked in transit, so stock is never counted in two places.

Batch expiry

Batch expiry

Each depot records expiry by batch, and head office can move short-dated stock to where it will sell.

Chain accounts

Chain accounts

Hypermarket chains with branches in several emirates get one account, one limit and one statement.

Route dispatch

Route dispatch

Each emirate's routes have load sheets, drop lists and delivery confirmation tied to invoices.

Payment matching

Payment matching

Payments logged by reps in any emirate are matched to invoices and shown in a national view.

Excise lines

Sweetened and energy drinks that carry excise can be shown separately from VAT on invoices.

One ledger for every emirate you sell in

When each emirate's depot runs its own system, finance has to combine figures for every VAT return and every month-end. SalesMake removes that step. An invoice in Ajman and a credit note in Al Ain post to the same ledger, using the same tax rules. Head office in Dubai or Abu Dhabi sees the national picture, and each depot manager still works on a screen limited to their own stock and routes.

  • Same tax rules applied in every emirate
  • No merging of depot figures at month-end
  • Depot managers see only their own data
  • National dashboard for head office

Billing and stock rules in UAE

VAT at 5% applies across the UAE, and corporate tax at 9% applies at company level, whichever emirates you trade in. E-invoicing is set nationally by the Ministry of Finance. Businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more go live on 1 January 2027, and all others go live on 1 July 2027, with invoices sent through an accredited service provider. For a distributor with depots in several emirates, that means every invoicing point must be ready on the same date. SalesMake keeps all invoices and credit notes in one structured format, so the whole company moves together. Excise on goods such as sweetened and energy drinks can be shown on its own lines.

VAT at 5% charged in every emirate served

All other businesses follow on 1 July 2027

Frequently Asked Questions

We have depots in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. Can SalesMake run all three?

Yes. Each depot is set up with its own stock and invoice series, and all three post to one ledger. Head office sees combined figures while depot staff see their own.

Does each emirate need a separate VAT setup?

No. VAT at 5% is the same across the UAE, so one tax setup applies to every depot. Invoices and credit notes from all emirates add up to a single return.

Which e-invoicing date applies to us?

It depends on company revenue. At AED 50 million or more you go live on 1 January 2027, and below that on 1 July 2027. All of your depots move on the same date.

Can a hypermarket chain in several emirates have one credit limit?

Yes. Branches can share one account with one limit and payment terms, while each branch gets its own deliveries and invoices from the nearest depot.

Can stock move from Jebel Ali to a Mussafah depot?

Yes. A transfer note records the move, and the goods stay in transit until Mussafah confirms receipt. Both depots' stock and values update correctly.

Do consultants visit depots in the northern emirates?

Consultants fly into the UAE for workshops, training and go-live, and visits to depots in Sharjah, Ajman or Ras Al Khaimah can be planned during those trips.

Where is Symake located?

Symake is based in Mahadevapura, Bengaluru, India, and has no office in the UAE. Help after go-live is remote, in hours that overlap the UAE working week.

Do reps need different apps in different emirates?

No. All reps use the same SalesMake app, which works in low-connectivity areas, and their orders and collections flow into the same system wherever they are.
