FMCG ERP, Billing, Inventory and Distribution in Sharjah, returns

Sharjah distributors carry a heavy return load. Routes from SAIF Zone and the industrial areas serve supermarkets in Al Majaz and Al Nahda, baqalas in Muwaileh and Al Khan, and outlets across Ajman and Umm Al Quwain, so damaged or near-expiry goods come back every day. If the credit note is written later by hand, the outlet disputes its balance and the depot loses track of what can still be sold. SalesMake books the return against the original invoice while the rep is still at the outlet. The credit note follows the same VAT treatment as the sale, and the goods land in a separate location until a supervisor decides whether to resell, destroy or claim them from the brand.

What SalesMake handles for Sharjah routes

From the depot dock to the northern emirates and back again

Return reasons

Return reasons

Every return carries a reason such as damage, expiry or wrong item, so you can see which routes and packs cause the most.

Linked credit notes

Linked credit notes

Credit notes point back to the invoice they correct, which keeps outlet balances and VAT figures in agreement.

Hold locations

Hold locations

Returned cartons go to a hold area in the depot and stay out of picking until a supervisor clears them.

Near-expiry alerts

Near-expiry alerts

Batches nearing their date are listed by depot, giving the sales team time to push them through the trade first.

Brand claims

Brand claims

Expired goods the brand has agreed to take back are grouped into a claim with quantities and values attached.

Route invoicing

Route invoicing

Invoices are numbered per route and depot, so a delivery list for Ajman matches the paperwork in the cab.

Outlet terms

Outlet terms

Credit days and limits sit on each outlet card and apply to every order, whether booked in the app or at the desk.

Daily close

Daily close

At the end of the day each route shows invoices, returns and collections side by side before the cash is handed in.

Group view

Group view

Owners see sales, stock and receivables for every depot and company in one place without merging spreadsheets.

One record from SAIF Zone to the outlet shelf

A Sharjah distributor might take goods into SAIF Zone, move them to a depot in the industrial areas and deliver to Al Nahda the next morning. In SalesMake each of those moves is a transaction against the same batch. When something comes back from an Ajman baqala, the system knows which invoice it left on, which batch it came from and what the outlet paid.

  • Batch history from receipt to return
  • Transfers recorded between free zone and depot
  • Returns priced at the original invoice price

Billing and stock rules in Sharjah

Sales in Sharjah carry VAT at 5%, and returns must reverse it on a matching credit note rather than as a loose adjustment. Corporate tax at 9% sits on top at company level. E-invoicing comes next. Following the Ministry of Finance schedule, businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more go live on 1 January 2027 and others on 1 July 2027, using an accredited service provider. Because credit notes in SalesMake always reference an invoice, they are ready for the same electronic route. Excise on goods such as sweetened drinks can be shown separately where your range includes them.

Credit notes always reference the invoice
VAT at 5% reversed on every return booked
E-invoicing from 1 January or 1 July 2027
Excise kept visible for sweetened drinks

Frequently Asked Questions

Can SalesMake handle stock held in SAIF Zone and a mainland depot?

Yes. Each site is a location with its own batches. Transfers between the free zone and the mainland depot are recorded, and invoices draw from whichever site ships the goods.

Our routes also cover Ajman and Umm Al Quwain. Is that a problem?

No. Routes can cross emirate lines freely. Outlets are grouped by route, and invoices, returns and collections are tracked the same way wherever the outlet sits.

How do we stop returned goods being sent out again by mistake?

Returns go to a hold location that picking cannot draw from. A supervisor decides whether each batch is resold, written off or claimed from the brand.

Will a credit note always show VAT correctly?

Yes. A credit note is created from the invoice it corrects, so it carries the same tax rate and lines. Finance can see both documents side by side.

Can the brand see what we claim for expired goods?

You can share a claim report listing batches, quantities and values. The claim is calculated in SalesMake and settled against the brand's account when agreed.

Is there an Arabic version of the training?

Sessions and support from Symake are run in English. Many Sharjah teams nominate a key user who learns the system first and then helps colleagues on the floor.

Where does the Symake team work from?

Symake is based in Bengaluru, India, and has no office in Sharjah. Consultants travel to the UAE for workshops and go-live, and support is remote after that.

Can owners see all companies in the group together?

Yes. Each company keeps its own books, and owners get a combined dashboard of sales, stock, returns and receivables across every depot.
