FMCG ERP, Billing, Inventory and Distribution in Qatar, town by town

Qatar's market is compact, but a distributor still covers a lot of ground. Stock may land at Hamad Port, sit in a depot in the Doha Industrial Area or Umm Alhoul, and reach outlets in Doha, Lusail, The Pearl, Al Rayyan, Al Wakrah and Al Khor. SalesMake keeps every depot, route and outlet on one system. Each depot has its own batches and invoice series, routes are planned by area, and credit limits apply to an outlet wherever it is served from. Head office sees sales, stock by expiry date and receivables for the whole country, while each depot manager sees only the part that is theirs.

Running Qatar-wide billing and stock

Depots, routes and outlets across every town in one setup

Depot network

Depot network

Add a depot for each town you serve, with its own stock, its own batches and a separate invoice numbering series.

Area routes

Area routes

Plan routes by area, such as Al Khor, The Pearl or Al Wakrah, and assign a rep and a truck to each one.

Country pricing

Country pricing

Hold one national price list with variations for chains and channels, and let trade schemes apply on top at order time.

Expiry by depot

Expiry by depot

See which depots hold short-dated batches, then move that stock to the towns where it will sell before its date.

Inter-depot moves

Inter-depot moves

Transfer goods between towns and keep them visible in transit until the receiving depot confirms the count.

Outlet credit

Outlet credit

Limits and payment terms stay with the outlet, even when it is served from different depots on different days.

Payment logging

Payment logging

Reps in every town record payments in the app, and finance sees the country total and each depot share daily.

Tax ready

Tax ready

Tax settings wait in the system, so they can be enabled nationwide in one step when Qatar adds VAT.

National dashboard

National dashboard

Sales, stock, returns and outstanding balances for every depot and route appear together on one live screen.

One system for every Qatar depot

Distributors that grow town by town often end up with a different spreadsheet at each depot. SalesMake avoids that. A new depot in Al Khor is set up with the same products, prices and rules as the one in Doha, and it starts billing on day one. Stock can be moved between towns with a transfer note, and head office compares depots on the same measures every morning.

  • New depots set up from existing rules
  • Transfers tracked between towns
  • The same measures for every depot
  • Local managers see their own data

How SalesMake goes live across Qatar

Six stages that bring each town onto one system in turn

Planning

Consultants meet the team in Doha to agree depots, routes, prices and the rollout order.

Core setup

Products, price lists, credit rules and accounts are set up once for the whole country.

First depot

The main depot goes live, and its billing and stock are checked for a full cycle.

More towns

Depots in Al Khor, Al Wakrah or Al Rayyan join one at a time on the same setup.

Training

Each depot's staff and reps are trained in English before their own go-live date.

Remote care

Support continues from Bengaluru during hours that overlap the Qatar working week.

Billing and stock rules in Qatar

Qatar has no VAT law in force yet, so invoices across the country carry no VAT today. Officials have said a tax is coming but have not named a date. SalesMake is ready to switch VAT on when Qatar introduces it, and the change can be applied to every depot at once. An e-invoicing law has been approved, also without dates, and invoice data is already stored in structured form. Excise tax applies to certain goods such as sweetened and energy drinks in GCC states, and those products are flagged centrally. Invoices are in Qatari riyals, local card payments run on the NAPS network, and the weekend is Friday and Saturday.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can we add a depot in Al Khor later without starting over?

Yes. A new depot copies the products, prices and rules already in place. It gets its own stock and invoice series and can start billing as soon as opening stock is loaded.

Is VAT charged anywhere in Qatar yet?

No. Qatar has no VAT law in force. SalesMake keeps tax settings ready, and when Qatar introduces VAT it can be turned on for every depot in one change.

Can outlets in Lusail and Al Wakrah share one credit limit if they belong to the same chain?

Yes. Branches of a chain can be linked to one account with a shared limit and terms, while each branch still gets its own deliveries and invoices.

What is the status of e-invoicing in Qatar?

An e-invoicing law has been approved, but no start dates have been given. SalesMake already stores invoices in structured form, so it should adapt once the rules are published.

Will we deal with Symake staff inside Qatar?

No. Symake works from Bengaluru, India. Consultants fly to Qatar for workshops, training and go-live in whichever towns need them, and support afterwards is remote.

How do we compare depots fairly?

Every depot reports sales, returns, stock by expiry and outstanding on the same measures. Head office sees them side by side on one dashboard.

Can reps work offline in outlying areas?

Yes. The SalesMake app is built to work in low-connectivity areas, so orders and collections are saved on the phone and sync when a signal returns.

Are invoices in riyals?

Yes. Prices, invoices, receipts and reports are all in Qatari riyals, and the ledger keeps every depot's figures in the same currency.
