Comparing FMCG ERP and Distribution Management in UAE emirates

Few brands in the country sell through a single distributor. A typical set-up has a partner for Dubai and the northern emirates, another for Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, and direct accounts with national hypermarket chains. Stock may sit in JAFZA, KEZAD or SAIF Zone, each with its own paperwork. SalesMake brings every emirate into one distribution control system. Primary orders, depot stock, scheme costs, claims and collections are recorded the same way everywhere, so leadership can compare Ras Al Khaimah with Dubai on equal terms. Symake delivers from Bengaluru, and consultants fly in for workshops, training and go-live.

SalesMake applies the same order, scheme, claim and credit rules to every partner, while still allowing different price lists and terms. National dashboards then compare like with like. Leadership sees which emirates grow, which schemes pay back and where overdue balances build up.

Distribution control for FMCG brands in UAE

Every UAE primary invoice carries VAT at 5%, and corporate tax at 9% applies above the threshold. The Ministry of Finance e-invoicing scheme goes live on 1 January 2027 for businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more and on 1 July 2027 for the rest, through accredited providers. SalesMake stores invoices and credit notes as structured data ahead of that. Trade licences are issued emirate by emirate, and free zones such as JAFZA, KEZAD and SAIF Zone add their own rules for moving stock to the mainland. Excise tax on sweetened and energy drinks is kept on separate price lines.

Frequently Asked Questions

We use different distributors in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah. Can SalesMake compare them?

Yes. Every partner follows the same order, scheme, claim and credit rules, while keeping its own price list and terms. Emirate and partner reports then compare like with like.

How does SalesMake prepare us for UAE e-invoicing?

Invoices and credit notes are stored as structured data with VAT at 5% per line. Firms with revenue of AED 50 million or more go live on 1 January 2027; others on 1 July 2027.

Can national hypermarket chains have separate terms from our distributors?

Yes. Chain accounts get their own price lists and listing schemes, and their sales are reported apart from the traditional trade served by distributors.

We hold stock in JAFZA and KEZAD. Is that a problem?

No. Each free zone depot is a location with its own stock. Moves to the mainland and to distributors are recorded as transfers, so stock is always traceable.

How are rollouts phased across the emirates?

A lead distributor goes live first and is checked with finance. Other partners follow in phases, each trained in English, so trade continues throughout.

Do Symake consultants come to the UAE?

Yes. Consultants come over from Bengaluru for the workshops, training and go-live. Symake has no GCC office, and day-to-day support is remote during hours that overlap your week.

Can SalesMake handle excise on energy drinks?

Excise-liable items such as sweetened and energy drinks are kept on separate price lines, so excise and VAT amounts stay distinct on invoices and reports.

Can reps working in remote parts of the northern emirates still book orders?

Yes. The mobile app is built for low-connectivity areas. Orders and collections are saved on the phone and sync once a signal returns.
