Kingdom view: FMCG ERP and Distribution Management in Saudi Arabia

Few FMCG brands in the Kingdom reach every region with one distributor. A typical network has partners in Riyadh, in Jeddah for the western coast, in Dammam and Al Khobar for the Eastern Province, and others serving Makkah and Madinah through their seasonal peaks. Each region has its own mix of hypermarkets, chains and bakalas, and its own way of reporting. SalesMake puts all of them on the same items, price lists and scheme rules, so head office sees orders, stock, claims and credit by region without waiting for spreadsheets. Symake consultants fly in from Bengaluru for workshops in Riyadh or Jeddah, and support is remote.

Kingdom-wide controls for brand head office

Nine things a national commercial team needs to see

Region comparison

Region comparison

Sales, scheme spend and claims by region, so Central, Western and Eastern teams are measured on the same basis.

National price lists

National price lists

Set distributor prices once for the country and allow regional variations only where you approve them.

Scheme calendar

Scheme calendar

Every active scheme with its region, dates and spend to date, so overlapping offers are spotted early.

Depot network

Depot network

Stock at every distributor depot, with batch and expiry, listed together so stock can be moved between regions.

Seasonal settings

Seasonal settings

Ramadan, Hajj and Umrah rules apply to distributors serving Makkah and Madinah without changing other regions.

Credit policy

Credit policy

One set of credit rules with limits per distributor, checked on every order wherever it is placed.

Claims flow

Claims flow

Return and scheme claims from all regions go through one approval process with the same value limits.

Group companies

Group companies

Separate legal entities keep their own books and VAT numbers, while dashboards combine them for the group.

National dashboard

Moving stock between regions before it expires

A slow line in the Eastern Province may still sell well in Jeddah. Because SalesMake holds depot balances and expiry dates for every distributor in one place, head office can see where stock is ageing and where demand is strong. A transfer can be arranged between distributors, with documents for both sides, before the stock becomes a return claim.

  • Ageing stock visible across all regions
  • Demand by region shown next to stock
  • Transfers documented for both distributors
  • Return claims avoided, not just settled

A Kingdom-wide rollout in six stages

Bringing regions online one after another

Head office design

Items, price lists, scheme rules and credit policy are agreed in Riyadh with the national team.

Central region

Riyadh-area distributors go live first so the core setup is proven near head office.

Western region

Jeddah distributors follow, with seasonal rules for Makkah and Madinah set up in Jeddah or online.

Eastern Province

Distributors in Dammam and Al Khobar join, with training online and on site.

Other regions

Remaining distributors are added in small groups to keep support focused.

National review

With every region live, we review dashboards, scheme payback and claim ageing with you.

Distribution control for FMCG brands in Saudi Arabia

Every Saudi region follows the same tax rules: VAT at 15% under ZATCA, and FATOORA e-invoicing rolled out in waves. Wave 25 covers businesses whose VAT-subject revenue went above SAR 187,500 in any year from 2022 to 2025, and its integration deadline is 1 February 2027. Phase 2 requires UBL XML documents with a cryptographic stamp and QR code; B2B invoices are cleared in real time and simplified invoices are reported within 24 hours. SalesMake applies this to every distributor invoice and credit note, in every region, with the Arabic fields ZATCA requires. Excise on affected drinks is kept separate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can SalesMake cover distributors in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam at once?

Yes. All distributors use the same system, and head office sees their orders, stock, claims and balances together or by region.

How are Makkah and Madinah seasons handled?

Season dates, seasonal credit and peak schemes can be set for the distributors serving the holy cities only, so other regions keep their normal rules.

Do all our regions need separate ZATCA setups?

No. ZATCA rules are national, so one setup issues compliant invoices and credit notes for every region, as long as they belong to the same VAT-registered company.

Can we move ageing stock from one region's distributor to another?

Yes. Head office sees ageing stock and regional demand together, and can arrange a transfer between distributors with documents for both sides.

Where do you run workshops for a national project?

Mostly in Riyadh or Jeddah, with consultants flying in from Bengaluru. Clients supplying Makkah meet in Jeddah or online, and Madinah clients in Jeddah, Riyadh or online.

Can our group's companies keep separate books?

Yes. Each legal entity has its own ledger, VAT number and price lists, while group dashboards combine the figures for management.

How do we know if a national scheme paid back?

SalesMake records the benefit on every order, then compares cost with volume by region and against regions or periods without the scheme.

Do you provide Arabic screens?

Our screens, training and helpdesk work in English. Every tax invoice and credit note issued to a distributor includes the Arabic fields ZATCA requires.
