A brand view of FMCG ERP and Distribution Management in Abu Dhabi

An Abu Dhabi brand often keeps its main depot in Mussafah or KEZAD, sells through two or three distributors, and follows the Al Ain channel in a separate spreadsheet. SalesMake joins those pieces. Primary orders, depot stock, scheme costs and distributor credit sit in one ledger, so the commercial head and finance read the same numbers. Distributors covering Khalifa City and Al Reem Island book against their credit limit, and a hypermarket scheme is measured against the extra cases it really moved. Symake delivers from Bengaluru, and its consultants fly to Abu Dhabi for the design workshop, user training and go-live week.

What the brand office controls in SalesMake

Nine areas that commercial and finance teams share

Primary orders

Primary orders

Distributors place orders against agreed price lists, and each order shows the depot it ships from and the credit it will use.

Depot stock

Depot stock

See cases on hand, in transit and reserved at the Mussafah depot or a KEZAD warehouse before you confirm a large order.

Trade schemes

Trade schemes

Define buy-and-get, slab and value discounts once, and SalesMake applies them automatically when the order is booked.

Scheme payback

Scheme payback

Compare what a scheme cost in free goods and discounts with the extra volume sold in the weeks it ran.

Distributor claims

Distributor claims

Scheme and damage claims are calculated from booked orders, so the distributor and your team argue over far fewer lines.

Credit exposure

Credit exposure

Each distributor has a limit and an ageing view, and new orders stop for approval when the limit would be crossed.

Retailer visibility

Retailer visibility

Secondary sales from distributors down to baqalas and supermarkets show which outlets really carry your range.

Double-entry books

Double-entry books

Sales, scheme costs, claims and receipts post to a full double-entry ledger, with VAT at 5% on every invoice.

Live dashboards

Live dashboards

Primary sales by distributor, scheme spend, overdue balances and depot cover, updated as transactions are saved.

Most capital-based brands sell into two quite different markets. City hypermarkets want listing schemes and promotional stock, while Al Ain baqalas buy smaller drops on credit. SalesMake keeps both in one distribution control set-up. Each distributor has its own price list, scheme eligibility and credit terms, and the brand office sees the combined picture without asking anyone to send a file.

  • Separate price lists per distributor
  • Scheme eligibility set by channel
  • Al Ain and city sales compared side by side
  • Overdue balances flagged before dispatch

Distribution control for FMCG brands in Abu Dhabi

Brands that sell in Abu Dhabi charge VAT at 5% and pay corporate tax at 9% above the threshold, so every primary invoice, credit note and scheme claim needs a clean tax line. E-invoicing under the Ministry of Finance goes live on 1 January 2027 for businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more, and on 1 July 2027 for the rest. SalesMake keeps invoice data structured for that change. Some ranges, such as sweetened and energy drinks, also carry excise tax, and price lists can hold those items separately. Distributor licences from Mussafah or KEZAD are stored on each distributor record.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can SalesMake cover our Al Ain distributor as well as Abu Dhabi city?

Yes. Each distributor is set up with its own territory, price list, schemes and credit terms. The brand office sees Al Ain and city sales together or apart, and depot stock shows which location will ship each order.

How does the system show whether a trade scheme paid back?

Scheme cost is captured at order time as free goods or discount. SalesMake then compares that cost with the volume sold during the scheme period against the weeks before it, by distributor, channel and SKU.

Does Symake have staff based in Abu Dhabi?

No. Symake has no office in the GCC. The project is delivered from Bengaluru, and consultants fly to Abu Dhabi for workshops, training and go-live. After that, support is remote during hours that overlap your working week.

Will our invoices be ready for UAE e-invoicing in 2027?

Invoices and credit notes are stored as structured data with VAT at 5% on each line. That prepares you for the 1 January 2027 go-live if revenue is AED 50 million or more, or 1 July 2027 otherwise.

Can we stop orders from a distributor who is over the limit?

Yes. When a new order would push a distributor past its credit limit or overdue days, SalesMake holds it for approval. The approver sees the ageing and recent receipts before releasing it.

What happens to damaged or expired stock that distributors return?

Returns are recorded against the original invoice with a reason code. Credit notes post to the ledger, and the depot stock view separates saleable and non-saleable cases.

Can Abu Dhabi distributor staff be trained in Arabic?

Training, user guides and support are in English. Distributor and brand staff are trained on site in Abu Dhabi during the project, with short online refreshers after go-live.

How long does a typical rollout take for a brand with three distributors?

It depends on how many schemes and price lists you run, but a brand with a few distributors usually moves from discovery to go-live within a few months. We agree the plan after the first workshop.
