How we deliver ERP, POS and Retail Inventory Solutions in Sharjah

Many Sharjah retail groups started as a single family store and grew into branches across Al Nahda, Muwaileh and Al Majaz, then into Ajman and Umm Al Quwain. Each branch often kept its own till software and its own stock sheet. The hardest part of moving to one system is not the software, it is the data. Symake spends real time on it: merging duplicate items, fixing barcodes, agreeing one price per item per region and counting stock before each branch switches. A store in Aljada or a stockroom in Sharjah Industrial Area then starts its first day with numbers the owners recognise.

What a Sharjah retail project includes

Work Symake does for groups moving off older tools

Current-state review

Current-state review

We list every till program, spreadsheet and accounting file in use, and note who maintains each one today.

Item catalogue merge

Item catalogue merge

The same product often has three codes across branches. We merge them into one item with one barcode set.

Price agreement

Price agreement

Owners decide on group prices and any regional exceptions, and those rules go into the system before stores switch.

Opening stock counts

Opening stock counts

Each branch is counted on the evening before its go-live, and the count becomes its opening stock.

Supplier records

Supplier records

Supplier names, payment terms and open orders are cleaned and loaded so buying continues without a gap.

Counter setup

Counter setup

Tills, barcode scanners, scales and receipt printers are configured and tested in the branch before day one.

Owner dashboards

Owner dashboards

Family owners see sales, margin and stock by branch on one screen instead of calling each store manager.

Online selling

Online selling

If you sell online, the web store draws on the same stock, so items sold out in branches stop showing as available.

Ongoing support

Questions after go-live go to a remote team in Bengaluru, during working hours that overlap the UAE week.

Branches here charge VAT at 5%, and the 9% corporate tax is assessed at company level. E-invoicing is the next step. If group revenue is AED 50 million or more, go-live is 1 January 2027 and an accredited service provider should already be appointed. Smaller groups appoint by 31 March 2027 and start on 1 July 2027. Symake builds the invoice data into your setup, so meeting the date is part of the same project.

  • Revenue threshold checked during discovery
  • Invoice fields set up with your items
  • Provider connection planned in the rollout
  • VAT returns data ready each period

Six steps from old tools to one system

How Sharjah branches move across without losing data

Tool audit

We record every system and sheet in use and agree which records must move across.

Cleanup

Items, barcodes, suppliers and customers are merged and corrected with your team's sign-off.

Build

Companies, branches, price rules and VAT settings are configured in a test copy.

Trial run

Store staff ring up real baskets on the test copy and report anything that feels wrong.

Branch switch

Each branch is counted, loaded and opened on the new system on its planned date.

Retire old tools

Once figures match for a full period, the old till software is switched off for good.

One retail stack for Sharjah

Sharjah follows UAE federal rules, so VAT is 5% and corporate tax is 9%. Groups here often hold separate trade licences for Sharjah, Ajman and other emirates, and each can be its own company in the system with shared items and group reporting. Stock held in SAIF Zone can run as a separate warehouse. Prices and books are kept in AED for each company. Support from Bengaluru overlaps your Monday to Friday working week, and training is delivered in English.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our Sharjah and Ajman branches are under different licences. Can they share one system?

Yes. Each licence becomes its own company with its own books and VAT figures. They share the item catalogue, price rules and loyalty program, and owners see a combined group report alongside the per-company view.

We use spreadsheets for stock in our Sharjah branches. Is that a problem for migration?

No, it is common. We take the sheets, clean them with your team and turn them into item records and opening stock. Where sheets disagree, we count the branch and use the physical count.

Can you come to our stores in Al Nahda and Muwaileh?

Yes. Consultants travel from Bengaluru for discovery visits, training and go-live days. Symake does not have a local office, so visits are planned around those milestones and other work happens remotely.

What happens to sales history in our old till software?

We usually load summary history so reports can compare this year with last. Detailed old receipts stay in an archive you can still open. Moving every past receipt rarely adds value and slows the project.

How do you stop staff from going back to the old system?

We set a retirement date for each old tool and agree it with the owners. Once a branch's figures match for a full period, the old till is switched off. Supervisors get extra coaching in the first weeks.

Is stock in SAIF Zone handled differently?

It is set up as a separate warehouse, and under a separate company if your structure requires it. Transfers into mainland branches are recorded as documents, so you can see what left the zone and when it arrived.

Can family owners approve purchases from their phones?

Yes. Purchase orders above a limit you set can wait for owner approval, which can be given from a phone or laptop. The order is released to the supplier once approved.

Do cashiers in Sharjah need long training sessions?

No. Cashiers usually need a short session on sales, returns and shift closing, plus a practice day. Supervisors get longer training on stock counts, transfers and price changes.
